They are currently hiring for the role of Internal Audit Manager. This is a compelling opportunity to join a dynamic Internal Audit team and contribute meaningfully to enhancing governance and risk management throughout the organization.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Group Head of Internal Audit in the development and maintenance of the Audit Universe and the Audit Plan process across the Group
- Support the Group Head of Internal Audit in completing the risk-based audit plan across our client group entities and where appropriate third parties
- Conduct internal audits and other assurance activities at our client including ad hoc investigations and reviews at the request of our client management and/or the Audit Committee
- Coordinate internal audit work with other resources from within the group or with the co-source partners
- Support the Group Head of Internal Audit in managing co-source service providers
- Support the Group Head of Internal Audit in drafting Board, Committee and Exco reports
- Review processes and controls to identify potential areas of risk and opportunities for operational improvements, including those areas related to safeguarding of assets, reliability of financial and management reporting, compliance with laws and regulations and effectiveness and efficiency of operations
- Prepare 'client ready' reports on the results of internal audits, including agreed management action plans
- Facilitate the introduction and/ development of standardized processes and controls and Internal Control System documentation throughout the group
- Perform follow-up work to ensure management progress on actions within the agreed time scales
- Perform other duties/participate in other group projects as assigned
- Personally, and visibly comply with compliance policies, procedures and processes, attend and support compliance training. Participate in compliance training as required, and identify and communicate compliance risks in the Internal Audit function
- Actively encourage, mentor, coach and supervise employees to promote compliant behaviour
- Adhere to the company's compliance obligations as set out in Policies, procedures, staff guidelines, employee handbooks and Codes of Conduct relevant to the job-holder's role and duties
- Report any control or compliance concerns, issues and failures and encourage staff to raise control and or compliance concerns
What you’ll need
- A qualified accountant with 5+ years PQE in audit, or CIIA-qualified 8+ PQE in audit
- 5+ years’ wxperience working as an internal or external auditor, including with Life and/or P&C re/insurance experience
- Experience of Non-life reinsurance run-off consolidators would be a significant benefit
- Certification relating to -or experience of- some of the following areas is also desirable: claims management, risk management, compliance and/or business integration within Non-life
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision on defined audit projects
- Experience in drafting near perfect reports
- Process analysis skills, adequate to identify key risks and controls from procedural walkthroughs
- Good communication skills regarding communicating with business managers about risk to the business
- Experience of auditing investment, actuarial departments
