The Head of Pricing will be responsible for the actuarial assessment and communication of risk and return across a range of reinsurance opportunities. This role includes leading the Bermuda-based pricing team and reporting directly to the Chief Actuary.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate resources for collaboration with underwriters, especially during peak pricing seasons
- Provide recommendations on deal structuring and price adequacy
- Develop expertise within the pricing team and coordinate with other office teams
- Create risk and return models suitable for business opportunities
- Lead actuarial projects to enhance pricing methodologies
- Implement process efficiencies leveraging actuarial platforms
- Communicate observations and recommendations across functions
- Maintain capital models for pricing deals across multiple capital pools
- Promote and implement data science technology for analytics improvements
What you’ll need
- A University Degree in Mathematics, Applied Science, or similar
- FCAS or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Property and Casualty Re/Insurance industry
- Experience pricing a wide variety of reinsurance treaties including a range of lines of business and structures
- Experience pricing retrospective trading opportunities
- Proficiency in Excel and Visual Basic
- Ability to manipulate large databases and proficiency in SQL
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to lead a team and prioritize a demanding workload
