PRICING ACTUARY – P&C – BERMUDA – 10% TAX – HR118

About this opportunity

Our client, offers specialty property, casualty, and life reinsurance products through reinsurance intermediaries on a global scale. The Pricing Actuary will assist in pricing both North American and International reinsurance business written by our client’s Bermuda office. The position will include collaborating on a wide variety of projects and across actuarial functions where possible. The individual will report directly to the Head of Pricing for Bermuda. This position requires a thorough knowledge of actuarial pricing and modelling techniques as well as proficiency in MS Excel and some coding experience.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Performing reinsurance treaty pricing for a wide range of business (Property, Casualty, Professional, Marine)
  • Discussing analyses with underwriters and management
  • Performing industry benchmarking analyses
  • Developing, enhancing, and maintaining actuarial models
  • Contributing to a wide variety of actuarial pricing projects to enhance workflows, capture data, and improve pricing methodologies
  • Performing underwriting audits of client files
  • Collaborating with and assisting the reserving team where possible

What you’ll need

  • College or university degree in mathematics, actuarial science, or similar
  • FCAS, ACAS or near completion level or equivalent designation
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in property and casualty insurance, consulting and/or reinsurance
  • Proficient in MS Excel and preferable knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA or R with an ability to create and improve pricing tools, query data, build reports, etc.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize a demanding workload and time sensitive deal flow
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with management at a senior level
