About this opportunity
Our client is offering an opportunity for a Capital Actuary to support the capital modelling function. This role involves managing and promoting the use of the economic capital model for decision making, risk management, and regulatory purposes.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Manage and maintain the Economic Capital Model (ECM), ensuring updates to reflect the risk profile of the business
- Production and validation of capital modelling submissions for internal uses and regulatory purposes (CISSA, Group ICAAP)
- Support the company reinsurance purchase process, including use of capital model for reinsurance optimization
- Promote the use of the ECM to support decision making and enhance consistency with other risk assessment processes across the business
What you’ll need
- A recognized Actuary qualification or nearing completion
- A bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related field
- 5+ years relevant experience, including capital modelling experience within General Insurance
- Excellent relationship management and influencing skills, capable of effective communication and persuasion at all levels, combined with a strong customer-focused mindset
- Experience in producing detailed reports at various levels with high degree of first-time accuracy proactive & execution mindset
- Ability and willingness to support with other actuarial disciplines (i.e. pricing and reserving as required)
- Strong understanding of industry best practice in capital management and reinsurance and industry business processes
- Strong understanding of compliance issues and local regulatory regime (e.g., Solvency II)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
