ASSISTANT REINSURANCE OPERATIONS ANALYST – CAYMAN ISLANDS – 0% TAX – HR700

Our selected candidate for the Assistant Reinsurance Operations Analyst role will assist with the coordination of key deliverables related to our client reinsurance transactions. This individual will collaborate across their investments, finance, actuary, risk, and information technology segments. The Analyst shall also support process improvement initiatives related to the reinsurance transaction process. This role will be located in Cayman Island location.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the operations for multiple significant reinsurance transactions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including reinsurance counterparties, internal functional areas, and others
  • Track reinsurance operational deliverables for each deal
  • Assist with identifying, investigating, and resolving reinsurance issues
  • Collaborate with the finance and actuarial teams to ensure controls and checks are in place to validate quality of monthly data
  • Support and assist in remediation of any reinsurance data issues that may arise
  • Review of the monthly settlement statement
  • Provide onboarding support for new reinsurance transactions
  • Assist in the preparation of various internal and external management reports and support the quarterly analysis of reinsurance operations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in the implementation of reporting processes
  • Assist with annual cedant audits and participate in ad hoc projects as required

What you’ll need

  • Knowledge of the reinsurance industry, lines of business, operating environments advantageous
  • Life and annuity reinsurance experience advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, actuarial, business administration or similar, from a recognized college or university
  • Hands-on experience having worked with groups to analyze, define and develop business requirements, as well as workflow processes, is advantageous
  • Very strong interpersonal/verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and establish and maintain relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with cedants and internal teams
  • Ability to build effective business relationships in a matrixed environment
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when required, Strong organization skill & Keen attention to detail
