FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – TRUST ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT – 10% TAX – HR302

About this opportunity

Our client has a challenging opportunity for a Financial Controller. They seek to attract a talented individual who has demonstrated an ability to excel in a dynamic, team-based environment.

General duties of the position include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and bank reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
  • Managing client trust accounts in accordance with Bermuda Bar Association regulations
  • Maintaining general ledger and ensuring accuracy of financial data
  • Preparing payroll, pension, and social insurance submissions
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant local tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • Liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed
  • Providing financial support and reporting to management
  • Liaising with IT provider
  • Supervising assistants

What you’ll need

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting, preferably within a law firm or professional services firm
  • Knowledge of trust account management and Bermuda’s regulatory requirements a plus
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information
